==Gerson Lehrman Group==
Mark Gerson and fellow Yale Law School graduate Thomas Lehrman founded the Gerson Lehrman Group in 1998 as a publishing house to provide industry guidebooks for institutional investors. They abandoned that business model a year later and retooled it to offer a matchmaking service to connect investors with independent consultants. The Gerson Lehrman Group was once called the, "most valuable NYC company no one outside of Wall Street has ever heard of".〔Peter Kafka, December 18, 2007. (Expert Network Gerson Lehrman Sells Stake: $875 Million Valuation" ), Silicon Valley Insider. Retrieved August 13, 2008.〕 GLG is headquartered in New York with 21 offices globally and more than 900 employees. The company is venture-backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and Silver Lake Partners.〔 In 2005, the ''New York Times'' stated that the group was "the industry leader in connecting investors with specialists".〔Stephanie Saul and Jenny Anderson, "(Doctors' Links with Investors Raise Concerns )", ''New York Times'', August 16, 2005.〕
